Mules: "True Love" & "House of Pain" (c.1985)

Ken Kittlitz (ex-Enemy Mind Feel) graciously mailed in a box of cassettes, which we're getting ready to post. This latest dispatch from the Kittlitz archives reminded us that, somehow, we'd completely forgotten to post these two Mules tracks he sent in last year. This is especially odd, given that digging up Mules songs was one of the reasons behind launching Golden Rock in the first place.

So, without further delay, here are "True Love" (different version from the one on Calgary Compelation) and "House of Pain." We're going to guess that these are from the cassette alluded to in this article. (And thusly date them to 1985.) Can anyone confirm or debunk this? Better still, anyone will to share that tape?

Thanks once again to Mr. Kittlitz. And stay tuned for an Enemy Mind Feel onslaught in coming days.

Those tracks were recorded at Smooth Rock studios in Calgary, that version of 'True Love' was number 1 on the U of C FM station for a couple of weeks, though it was never released in any form...it is possible that is the cassette from the station, since we only made about a dozen copies. I wrote both those songs, words and music, and sang lead vocals. Thanks for your interest!! All the best, Rob Hayter (Clive Mansfield). robert.hayter@virgin.net
